  Is the Watchtower shy about repeating their new "generation" teaching?

  as i recall in the 1980s talks and watchtower literature, magazines and books were always talking about the "generation" teaching and how it proved armageddon was going to come any day now.. but am i correct in thinking they have only actually mentioned the new "overlapping generations" teaching once or twice in the literature?

  why are they so shy about talking about their great new interpretation?

  it's almost enough to make you suspect they are a embarrassed about it.. mention it once or twice, don't dwell on it, hope everyone just accepts it, and don't bring it up again.

  A generation comprised of two groups whose lives overlap with one another, yes, but not two "overlapping generations."

  We are dealing here with DJDamnFool, who has taken hold of the old principle "Baffle with Bull$#%t if you can't Blind with Science":

  - then raised it to a whole new level.!

  (Mind you, he ought to be good - he did after all have excellent tuition in the arts of dupicity and double talk, from no less than the good old WTS!)

  Heat Pumps

  i am replacing my hvac system, considering 2 options .

  1) heat pump coupled with a 80% efficiency furnace for when it drops below 20f .

  2) a 95% high efficiency furnace with a traditional 15 seer a/c unit.. anyone here work in this field or replace their system recently?

  The heat pump that I have in our central living area consumes 1200 Watts of electricity, yet releases 7200 Watts of heat.

  Even though I believe the electricity consumers in this state are being robbed blind, anything that releases six times the energy that it consumes has got to be the way to go!

  There were some wild characters about in our remote rural territory 40-odd years ago.

  One morning, a pair of them fired a warning shot, followed by a burst of choice shearing-shed language. Unfortunately for them,though, the two brothers misread completely the signal, and thought that somebody else had been shot. Believing this to be so, the matter was promptly reported to the police - and the offenders consequently had their firearms confiscated.

  In this particular instance, a pistol in a book bag would have afforded little protection:

  - for anybody exposed on a long farm driveway, a .38 revolver against a .270 rifle (with telescopic sights) would have been no contest!

  Everlasting life on a paradise earth? Unlikely!

  the watchtower of january 1st, 2010 p. 22-23 pretends that "all who respond favorably to gods warning and bring their life into harmony with his righteous principles (meaning jehovah's witnesses) will be granted salvation and enjoy everlasting life on a paradise earth.".

  but is it true?.

  astrophysicists say that like other stars of its type, our sun will become a planet-engulfing red giant.

  Ah --- but then it would not be a paradise "Earth", would it? Rather, some other planet in some other solar system.

  No, the finite nature of all stars, including the sun, makes mockery of the idea of "Everlasting Life on a Paradise Earth":

  - and shows the claim up for what it is, i.e. just a proverbial carrot on the end of a stick to keep a bunch of suckers slaving for a book publishing empire.

  answer: it pretends it will never happen!.

  Ref. Your conclusion : "The Watchtower leaders don't give a damn."

  Interestingly, according to Raymond Franz in his Crisis of Conscience, N.H. Knorr actually once admitted to this:

  i.e. The JW religion does not care about the welfare of its membership - being concerned only with numerical increase, to the detriment of everything else.

  So your conclusion must be correct, when even WTS leadership agrees with it!

  PS: A fitting end result of this callous policy would be for the JWs to lose the very thing that WTS leadership has placed above everything else - membership. wha happened? may well be right regarding what happens as us baby-boomers age, and their financial contributions cease. It would hit the WTS in the one place that is guaranteed to hurt them - the hip pocket. (No good trying to kick them in the guts, they haven't got any!)

  it's confounding the society does not realize that more and more elders, do not accept this claim.

  i have racked my brain, wondering how many brothers and sisters actually believe this, fall hook and sinker.
